Hi, I’m Melissa. I’ve been playing the saxophone since I was 10. Why the saxophone? I wanted to play the flute, but my older sister's had an alto saxophone sitting in storage collecting dust. The farm where I grew up is in the middle of NOWHERE, so I spent a lot of time alone on the farm practicing the saxophone as there was little else to do. The first two years of college I was a part of Mock Trial. I traveled around the country and competed against top schools in the United States. I’ve traveled the world teaching swim lessons to the children of our service people through the Camp Adventure Youth Services Program. I’ve lived in Spain, Belgium, Japan and Hawaii and have loved every minute of those experiences. It’s great to meet people with different outlooks and ideas. In 2014, I graduated from Loras College with majors in finance, marketing, and public relations. Currently, I live in the birthplace of "Yardbird" or "Bird" for you jazz fans out there. :)
